These types of carpet tend to react badly to the application of too much water, and often will "wick" dirt back up to the surface after hot water extraction has been used. In these situations we definitely recommend the VLM Encapsulation method. For all residential carpets, we strongly recommend Hot Water Extraction (using a van mounted machine) as the most suitable method. A good operator and system will be able to remove a lot of soil build up this way, and leave the carpet 'damp' to touch. Synthetic carpets cleaned using the more powerful units are often dry within a few hours anyway. Oh and make sure that a very thorough vacuuming is carried out before cleaning, regardless of which method is being used!
